This quote from a disciple of John is what sealed the deal for me. I realized early Christians were Catholic in their belief about the Eucharist. “They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in His goodness, raised up again.”
— St. Ignatius of Antioch, Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter 7 (c. 107 AD)

I don't quite get it man you say the Church fathers and church history made you not return to Catholicism. Even though the early Fathers had a clear and unified view of the Church. Even warned against private interpretation. Ignatius of Antioch even called the Church “Catholic” and Augustine said he wouldn’t believe the Gospel without the authority of the Catholic Church. And the primacy of the Pope doesn’t depend on later forgeries like the Donation of Constantine or Isidorean Decretals. It is rooted in Scripture and affirmed by early Fathers like Irenaeus. So what exactly in Church history or the Fathers makes you reject Catholicism? Because church fathers agree on catholic doctrines.

People just speak out of ignorance. What they are really saying is "I would rather believe man over God!".

put it this way, " misinterpretations of the writings of the church fathers is what kept you from returning to the Catholic church". Those church fathers were Catholics and I'm sure you would have disagreed with them if you lived in their era just as we had those who lived in their era and disagreed with them.

The church fathers are not always correct for which church father can say what fruit Adam & Eve ate, the actual reason why Ado (Lot’s wife) looked back, what were the Hebrew letters God spoke the Heavens and the earth into existence? This and so much more can be found in the 1,200 (One Thousand Two Hundred) Book Holy Bible

I've been wanting to find church history books like the ones you mentioned; for years! I'm saving this video so I can go back another time to get the names of these books. I'm putting them on my list of books to buy! If you could suggest any other good church history books; it would be much appreciated! Thank you for this video, brother. ✝️🙏

It’s expensive, but you should get an ancient Christian commentary on scripture. It is a comparative commentary but with church fathers

Admittedly, I'm no expert, but it seems like the separation between early Jewish and Gentile Christians was a major factor in pagan Roman culture seeping it's way into the Catholic church. Having people who could actually read Hebrew and provide insight to practice on the foundational doctrines of Biblical Judaism may have helped... A LOT. 🙏🏽
