Common form mistakes that we fixed in today's workout session!  We started with some shoulder presses. She pressed with her arms flared out and said it kinda hurt her shoulder, so the quick fix was moving her arms slightly in front of her. Then we moved onto an upper back machine row. She told me she’s never tried an upper back workout before, and to be honest a lot of people I know say this, but it is important to train your entire back. So, instead of pulling to her sides to target the lats, this machine forces your to flair your arms and pull at 45 degrees, targeting more upper back. We both got a crazy contraction from this one. Then while I hit a chest press and an incline press, she went off and used the restroom. We rejoined at side lateral raises. She said she felt it in their neck and traps a lot and I said it was cause she looked kinda like a bird flapping it’s wings. So, I told her, instead of trying to yank it up with your elbow or hands, think of pushing your arms out to the sides and up. And Immediately, all focus went to her side delts. We then hit some lat pulldowns which looked great and moved onto tricep pushdowns. She had it mostly right, but her shoulders were too far forward and she moved her elbow a lot, which took out some focus on her triceps and finished with some bicep and hammer curls.
