literally saw a video not too long ago where the octopus wouldn't let go of a little boy and it took like 4 people to get it off of him. he was so bruised and it was terrifying. there was not video of it but the mom showed photos of the bruises

That octopus can easily overtake a small child and drag them into the tank. They also have dangerous beaks. That octopus being in a tank is not good for the animal rthe children who will be putting their arms in there. Absolutely ridiculous.

Listen I used to be a professional exhibit diver, like my job was to go in and clean the tanks. And the MOST experienced members of the team were barely allowed to clean in our giant pacific octopus tank bc she once attacked our lead diver. Literally held him down and pulled his mask off so he didn’t have air!!! like I ❤️that octopus and don’t blame her but it’s not safe for any rando to be interacting w them 😭😭😭😭

Having grown up near the Seattle Aquarium where they have an appropriately housed Giant Pacific Octopus…THEY DID WHAT AND PUT IT WHERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They will absolutely yoink a child!

There's an octopus the size of a border Collie in an Aquarium in Seaside, Oregon that they sometimes keep in an open tank with no lid (not a touch tank, just in the floor with a fence thing), and every time I see it I think, "Oh, you can leave whenever you want, huh?"

San Antonio aquarium is the most sketchy place ever. Whole time I was there with my wife and I just felt bad for the animals. The employees are sketchy af. One of the employees was legit vaping inside. You can just tell the animals aren’t taken care of properly. Whole place is a bad vibe. The enclosures are too small. You would think with a interactive aquarium employees would have to be around when you do interact but not the case at all.

I saw a video from a Mom who’s little boy was attacked by that same octopus. The poor boys arm was covered in bruises from the octopus and it took 2 or 3 adults to free him. He ended up being okay thank goodness.
