the ai has to pull from already existent art(s) to generate an image, if it's a living artist or an estate/trust they should be compensated. the ai companies should be transparent about where the machine is pulling from and it should only be pulling from sources that have already agreed to permit their work to be used in prompts. the artists should be compensated/receipted upon initial rendering of a prompt utilizing their work.

my mother a graphic artist was made disabled with her dominant hand and was still able to do art. AI art has destroyed business now though

I saw the one story of this young person who was in connection with someone from hollywood, they thought they were forming a friendship and working with a mentor. They spent a lot of time working on a story board, my developing their skills, and was excited and passionate for the project. For their mentor to turn around and say "I already finished the project, I didn't want to wait so I used ai to finish the project" This was a project that was off and on for years waiting for a green light, and was the mentoree first project in the industry, and they were rightfully hurt
