after 11 years I finally got a "5 - exceeds expectations last year." I went above and beyond HARD because I was going to ask for a significant raise. one that would bring me to the salary of someone hired 9 months earlier that makes 10k more than I do. I spent hour on my EOY review. they said no. they get bare minimum now.

From a manager, we have a quota system where only 5% are allowed the get the top score. So for teams smaller than 50 people, means 5% is less than 1 person. No team is 50+ so no one can gets the top score. Makes total sense...

here is my tip: never show enthusiasm at work. you do your job well but never let anyone know that you are content. dont show up for party or gathering yet remember and give personal gifts to people around you. it will gives everyone illusion you are always busy and have other important tasks.
