the ledge dash mechanic is applicable to Torrent in base Elden Ring so I think it's just a physics thing. that being said you also get a burst of speed when landing from a surge sprint to a lower elevation, this can be used to ledge dash as well

I found the guardian vs. falling star beast one out by pure chance because I happened to be in front of my teammate it was charging at it and stopped it. I love that that's a thing that can happen, just another reason guardian's the goat🦅.
