It is almost a crime that Dahmer wasn't allowed to be studied both before and after his death. Of all known serial killers, he's the only one to express he knew the difference between right and wrong but had uncontrollable thoughts, fantasies and disturbing desires. A golden opportunity was missed there.

interesting sub topic but surely with advances in technology there can never be a serial killer anymore. now they'll just get caught. I guess it's still possible but greatly reduced

I think historically we neglect talking about sexual depravity in men. It still happens today, yeah. But historians tiptoe around sexual violence even in post graduate curriculums when this core part of male behavior explains why the world is the way it is today.

I think it was that he suffered ego death due to super heavy substance abuse. It is a fact, he had a severe drug problem but nobody talks about it.

koh wanted the life they had. they were young. beautiful and having fun. koh was bullied in high school. he never had that life. he also had tinnitus and visual snow and was undoubtedly very mentally ill. he zeroed in on them. those poor kids 🥺 just a horror.

I feel like he’s been obsessed with this stuff since he was in high school. The psychotic 🌽 probably started in high school when he was getting bullied by women for being overweight. I think he wanted to study how to basically get away with it through out college and target the stereotypical girls that made fun of him/never accepted him. There was too much rage shown in the autopsies for us to assume he just wanted to commit a crime. Those girls were considered a “trigger” for him. I believe that’s why the shmurder was so brutal.
