we checked/changed every hour for the first 3 mo, after that we check or change every 2 hrs. longest she goes without a change is overnight and we *try* to change her right before bed (19mo now) and within 30 min of her waking up in the morning bc miss hangry needs brekky first lol she had a god awful rash the first 2 wks from the meconium and trying to get use to bm/formula combo. it was rough. the ped gave us some resinol and it cleared up within a day or 2. now juice, even watered down 50/50, of all things gives her a rash when she pees 🤦🏼♀️🥲 so no more juice/only a little tiny amount of juice I also laid her on her sides and rotated sides every night bc I was terrified she'd spit up in her sleep and aspirate on it bc ONE NIGHT she spit up in her sleep and we almost didnt get to her quick enough and if we had also been asleep, im not sure that we would've gotten there in enough time. we didnt do rice cereal bc it was currently recalled for arsenic at the time it would've been appropriate for her lol and we coslept for some naps and when she was sick and now as a toddler sometimes we just accidentally fall asleep in her bed with her 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️guaranteed those "perfect moms" have done at least one thing that society would be judgey abt. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

i rarely ever judge, you never know what someones going through or if theyre just trying to make it through a certain phase in their or their childs life. but sometimes i just... like i just saw this mom who had mold in all her babies bottles and didnt realize she needed to clean the green part to dr brown bottles. like im sorry, you dont need to read the instructions to know to clean everything in/on the bottle. but yeah "perfect moms" are always lying bc theyre embarrassed about themselves and project that onto other moms and judge them. no way youre changing your babies diaper everytime its slightly blue. youd never sleep, which would make you sleep deprived, in turn making you make more mistakes or even become dangerous. aka not so perfect anyways.

my mom always jokingly said it says up to 25 pounds on the box they mean it. (my grandma hates my mom and told everyone she never changed my diapers as a baby)

I saw someone say something about diaper changes in the morning after waking up and honestly that's me too. I change her diaper for the last time around 8:30-9:00 we go to bed and then I won't touch her diaper til around 5:30 in the morning

My daughter rashes so easy she has such sensitive skin. And we coslept from the time we brought her home and still cosleep aside from the five minutes she wants to be in her own bed

The thing is, being a good mom isn’t hard so I do judge. We live in the time of the internet where all the info we could ever need to make the best decisions for our kids are at our fingertips.. why are you doing anything less?

Seriously though. That blue line will show up with the teeniest bit of moisture but the inside of the diaper will still be desert dry! Just wasting diapers at that point.

I remember when ppl hated on me cause i wouldn’t change her diaper till i woke up in the morning. Cause who is waking up at 2 in the morning to change a diaper to risk her waking up and mess up the sleep cycle? Unt unt no.

I’ve co slept since birth. It works for my baby and I. I will never mom shame unless it’s Badddd as long as that baby is loved and fed and cared for and it’s all safe idc

My baby has had diaper rash. Only because she slept all night and pooped at one point😭 felt awful!! But I’ve coslept, used baby oatmeal, and I don’t changer her until that line is at least halfway blue

My baby slept in the crib for the first 4-5 months, but between him getting sick, getting his lip and tongue tie procedure, and having 4 teeth popping at once, he sleeps in the bed for my sanity 😭

i agree with everything but the bed sharing thing. keeping a baby alive is not being a "perfect mom" it's the bare minimum.

I’ve done oatmeal instead of rice (pediatrician recommended). Diapers got changed once I saw a hint of blue only because of my daughters skins being so sensitive 😂 but cosleeping saved me lol
