I used to use Wattpad religiously. I tried Ao3 but didn’t get it at first. Then I did, and now the only reason I still have Wattpad is cause I still follow a couple of insanely good unfinished stories there. Ao3 is so much better.

i dont know if this is just me, but i upload my work on both ao3 and wattpad and there’s a drastic difference in hit/views? on ao3 my works are 1k+ but on wattpad they have 100-200 max - and they are the exact same fics. is it the tagging system or is it that the amount of wattpad readers have decreased?

I prefer Wattpad, to be honest. the only problem is the tagging system. but Wattpad doesn't have the ao3 Author's Curse 🤣🤣 (and I love that we can make covers for the fics and add videos)

Love love love the tagging system in AO3. Wattpad I only read new stories for same author, from a list created for a ship or if I saw a TikTok promoting a story buuuut 99% of the time is AO3

Proud to say I’m went form using Wattpad in middle school to now using ao3 as an adult. The only thing Wattpad has going for them is that they have an app.

I love both, posting on wattpad is more fun with the imagery and the comments within the chapter paragraphs, but I prefer ao3 to read for tags and no ads. Both have great qualities that if combined would be immaculate.

my personal opinion but I like wattpad more. Yeah finding good fics are difficult on wattpad but it's an amazing app for young authors to gain audience. Ao3 is only good for the peoples who read fanfiction

Wattpad also has tags, but they are not as precise as Ao3, personally I like Ao3 more because it gives you exactly what you are looking for and instead Wattpad throws you a lot of books that can have what you are looking for but you must search one by one
