one interesting debate to have is if products like uber, instagram, facebook, etc bring value to you as a person. there is a case to be made that they started out with a good solution to a problem but now the are doing more harm then good

The US is like a third world country with a Gucci coat. Yes you have all the tech in the world, yet your people are living paycheck to paycheck, have no healthcare and education is sub par to say the least. I take Europe everyday.

No, Europe didn’t invent the modern tech WORLD. Barely contributed aside from British and tariffs being the cause of US’s existence.

Hardest part of growing is that when significant competitor for US megacorps is growing it is bought out by same megacorps to keep their monopoly

the US made the modern tech world. every major tech invention of the last 100 years is from here. search engines, the internet, microprocessors, social media, videogames, and now advanced AI are all from the US

Maybe in this case, it's for the best. Lax regulations may lead to better innovations, but is also very susceptible to over-capitalism in the wrong hands

I have problems with a few of your assertions.
1st How is the EU a significant contributor to the modern tech landscape?
2nd Uber was blocked by Europeans in order to establish a local competitor, that was mercantilism not an objection to tech innovation.
3rd A significant portion of the tech fines and regulations are structured to only apply to American tech firms. Yet again this is about their mercantilist nature.
While EU regulation makes it harder to succeed, they also invest heavily in helping EU companies succeed through suppression of competition.
