@cascadiaclassic: Daytona disaster 😞 #barnfind #bigblock #mopar #musclecar #carflipping The 1969 Dodge Daytona was a radical "aero-warrior" muscle car designed specifically for NASCAR dominance. Built on the Charger R/T platform, its defining features were the distinctive 18-inch pointed nose cone and a towering 23-inch tall rear wing, which provided crucial aerodynamic advantages and downforce for high-speed racing. To meet NASCAR homologation rules, Dodge produced approximately 503 units for public sale. While it was a race-winning machine, being the first NASCAR car to exceed 200 mph, its unconventional looks made it unpopular with the public at the time. Engine options included the 440 cubic-inch Magnum V8 and the legendary 426 Hemi V8 (only 70 produced). Today, the Daytona is a highly sought-after collector's item due to its unique design and racing pedigree.
20k miles on the engine, but the body looks like it's been to the sun and back

It’s that spoiled babyboomer generation. They had so much money they could buy cars and let them rot in a barn.🙄😳🤔

Soon these hoarders will be left with rust piles with no value. So many lost opportunities to have sold them when they still were valuable.

I'm confused. if the owner sold it to the dealer for low 6 figures (over 100k), how did he get burned?

A completely restored 440 is worth much more than a couple hundred thousand. If it were a hemi it would be a different story
