Children would eat sugar for every meal, not brush their teeth and play in the road, if we let them. Protecting children should be a given, why can’t we agree on what we’re protecting them from? Irreversible surgeries, and permanent damage from medication is NOT okay!

In the article she says "their gender doesn't affect how I love and support them" but she won't even support them? How on Earth did she win this court case. She also admitted that she'd kick a child out of her house if they did sexual acts that don't align with her Christian values.

So she's outright said she's going to neglect a child's needs and they decided that was a good thing? No child should be placed with this woman. If her religion suddenly said you can't take your kid to a Dr she would stop taking them. Religion should never prevent care of any kind.

you know I thought it was terrible to resent a queer child you conceived. it's a whole other level of hate to knowingly foster a child that has specific needs and support and refuse to do it. that child is already going through hell they DO NOT need a "Christian savior" they need a safe place to be themselves.

Whether you agree with gender therapies for adolescents or not is irrelevant. As a foster carer it is not your job to altar a child in your care’s healthcare plan. That plan is created and approved by the social worker and it’s the foster carer’s job to uphold it, not argue with it. You can say what you want about gender therapies but a child’s healthcare is not up to the foster. What is the foster was anti-vax? You’d still want the social worker to enforce the carer to take infants or teenagers for any vaccines they require. Because it’s not their job to have an opinion, it’s their job to make sure the child has access to the resources THEY need. This foster carer is acting above her station. If you have a problem you take it up with the social worker, NOT upon yourself.

I don't agree with her reason, but i do also believe that giving hormone shots to a child isn't a great idea as it is likely they'll change their mind later. I have had my time experiencing my gender and my sexuality to find out who i really am, and if you asked me a few years ago, my answer would have been different. I do think she should still call them by their chosen name and pronouns, as that can also help them figure other things out. Also, in any case i too do think that she shouldn't adopt them if she isn't ready to respect them and accept them in any way shape or form. If something i said is wrong, please correct me!
