The other day I had my closest call ever with a child almost falling- it was with a hip seat carrier on my back (I was overly confident because of the seat) and reached for the straps right as my baby decided to throw herself- using the seat to propel her body, backwards, flipping herself off the seat much further than I considered possible. Luckily- I had the other arm still back there guarding, felt it and was able to grab quickly, catching her leg. This could have been avoided in part had I kept my arm fully on her back. Babies and toddlers can be UNPREDICTABLE!! And getting over confident about your ability to sense what will happen can result in harm - I like to keep a healthy dose of recognition that babies and toddlers are unpredictable and to not ever think that previous behavior is a guarantee of the future. #babywearing #babywearingmama #infantsafety
