This honestly is the drama that never ends and I’ve given up trying to guess what’s next. We decided to turn out the mares and babies with Buddy and his band until Firefly is healed but I came out to find Buddy snaking the band. It was quite honestly the slowest and most polite suggestion of a snaking I’ve ever seen but nonetheless Buddy seems to have taken this all to heart and thinks he should now behave like Presley and Flash to keep his mares. It truly is the most adorable thing as Buddy hasn’t been interested in a mare since he got here, except for Little Girl for a second. And maybe he’s having a mid life crisis but this isn’t going to work now either. We put the mares back in with Flash and Midnight for now while we figure out what’s next. The mares and babies were so sweet but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s actually Priscilla driving them all crazy, after being in a pen without boys for a year and having to raise another mares baby, maybe she’s ready to settle down and has all the boys fighting for her. I love this whole soap opera and it’s better than any reality tv show with its twists and turns. I love seeing wild behavior for any reason be it climbing mountains to find the wild ones, to Flash, Hyas, Presley and Buddy being studs, to mama and baby bonds that run deeper than the ocean. Tomorow we will be back with a beautiful fundraiser for a deserving Mustang and a really precious donkey in need. Please join us here in the morning to help us get them home to Skydog.
