the other important piece of the process that people don’t realize is how many brands have legal teams who read every. single. word. of their ads before it goes out! not to say it’s a perfect process, but it is wild to hear those convos as a copywriter to know how many ways words can be taken and what the legal implications are for ads.

I hate to break it to you. But many small shops deal with clients who won’t do briefs and leadership who don’t think it’s a big deal because they are more focused in on revenue . It’s sad. Industry is stripped of process and resources for foundation. Everyone just does things because clients don’t want accountability and leadership allows the clients

in many cases there are dozens of people involved through every step of the way. how it comes together in final is nearly always on purpose. Unless theres a technical error. But people think it’s a like Uncle Jessie and Joey writing jingles in their basement.

What is the standard time frame for the step by step you layed out. Like the Sweeney ad did they come up with the idea 4 months ago and then went into production or was it more recent? So did “Back to school” season of clothes, advertising brainstorming session start two seasons earlier.
