yoshiki said the town feels too stuffy (meaning theres no room for him to be himself) so he talked about going to the city (where its more open and he can be free) but then hikaru said he didnt need to go to the city and could just go to his house instead meaning that hikaru said yoshiki can be himself around him

(Just what I think may not be true) I think the ‘monster’ that in hikaru or supposed to be the new him represents internalized homophobia the real Hikaru was never to open about his feelings and Yoshiki even mentions that the real Hikaru has never said he liked him not even once but this Hikaru does meaning that he’s coming to terms with his own feelings while Yoshiki is struggling with coming to terms with his feelings for Hikaru which is why he pushes him away and then later when he realizes that this Hikaru needs him he rushed to his house were he excepts this Hikaru not as a replacement but as the new normal and as someone who needs to learn to live life all over again (which might represent coming out and having to deal with people seeing you different —sorry if this doesn’t make any sense I typed it at 2 AM and I’m running off zero sleep)
