We just got an update on Kiyosa. But I will give you all the updates we have received from her initial intake at the ER. Sunday she weighed 1.14lb and yesterday at Ridgeview she weighed 1.2lbs. Arrived at the ER at 3:30 pm Tuesday: Her blood Glucose was only at 23 and Her temp at 90 despite being in an incubator and heating pad. Tuesday 5:15pm: Temp was up to 92 They did an x-ray of her belly but it did not show anything. They planned on doing an ultrasound to see if there was any internal bleeding. Wednesday 10:45: They are having a very guarded prognosis, even being on the Dextrose IV and extra Bouillis she is struggling to keep her Blood Glucose up. It is at 52 which is better than yesterday but needs to be higher. She did eat this morning, they were hoping that would help keep her numbers up but it did not. She does have a normal temperature. But if they bring her off the heat her temp drops. So she can't maintain her body temp. They believe she is going septic and are starting a central line to better monitor her IV antibiotics. They said this is kind of the last ditch effort as they cant get enough blood from her so be able to see exactly what is going on. Wednesday at 11:30am: Ultra sound they don’t see any blood in her abdomen which is good. They just called again and were able to get blood work finally because of that central line and her red blood cells are dangerously low and so are her protein levels. She has almost no reading on albumin, which is not good. So they are going to start a blood transfusion they’re about 700 a piece. Her current bill as of right now is 3200.00!!! She is fighting! To know she was actually eating this am to how she was last night does warm my heart. We are hopeful but we are also guarded as we know how fragile these babies are!
