To be fair, his whole life - family/friends, house, cars etc are on that island and he’s there trying to keep all the tourists calm and get you to safety. When he is probably stressed out of his mind worrying about what he's going to do, not just now, but when you sail away to your disaster free homes and he's left to his.

I understand that they had to leave because of the tsunami, but NCL couldn’t cover your charges to attempt to get back on the ship even though you’re on an NCL excursion? That makes NO SENSE, unacceptable.

Hilo was devastated by 2 tsunamis in 1946 & 1960 so we take these threats seriously. Guaranteed the tour guide was doing his best to stay calm but worrying about his family.

So our ship had to leave about five years ago because fire had crossed the roads and we could not get back so you may find that they will take you to a meeting point where all the other tours are whether that’s on high ground or wherever that’s what they did with us and all of a sudden we were with hundreds of people from different tours even from different ships in one location so that they knew where we were and then someone from the ship will start assembling list of who they have there.

It’s what one crew member said in the chaos of an emergency. My bet is they will compensate people or provide bus service backup the ship. I’m so sorry. We did this same cruise in April and had the time of our lives.
