I learned from a friend told me water and tea tree. They don't like the smell of tea tree, the mosquito and flies. also I found out with plants, mosquitoes and flies.Don't like lavender and t plan a mint plan or something

Here in South Carolina we have a mosquito epidemic for sure and yes vanilla is amazing but we also have an added nuisance of what we call “No seeums” tiny little biting flies. if you add a tiny bit of lemongrass oil, you also do away with those. My family has been using this concoction for years.

Nah I rubbed vanilla extract all over my arms before I went to work cause the shops full of mosquitoes and I just got made fun of the whole time smelling like vanilla.. they still call me baker boy and I still got bit by mosquitoes

My grandma used to bathe us in it. She also used to keep us from eating bananas 24 hours before going to an outdoor thing because they like the banana I guess

Vanilla extract is not an effective mosquito repellent. While some anecdotal evidence suggests that vanilla extract may repel mosquitoes, scientific studies have not supported this claim. In fact, a study published in the Journal of Insect Science found that vanilla extract actually attracted more mosquitoes than a control group.
