I've been told that senior cadet ranks don't actually drop rank, most become officers immediately because of it. they just need to let the instructors know of their rank and seniority/ authority in basic..

I remember at one of the armed forces days I was working at a cadet officer tried to dress down a Staff Sargent for not saluting him 😅 he just laughed and walked away.

nope, the cadet permissions paper work that is what needs to be signed in order to become a cadets states that thus will not happen and legally cannot happen.
