The main complaint is that it’s not groundbreaking, it’s gumball. I don’t think anyone expected it to be groundbreaking. I waited seven years to watch the show that I grew up with. I didn’t really expect anything groundbreaking to come out of it. I just wanted something that felt similar to the OG show and that’s what it provided. It’s a perfect revival because it decides not to take any unnecessary big changes. Personally, my only group with it is that it didn’t have Rob or any mention of the void.

I just watched the first episode and thought it was extremely disappointing. I’ve watched gumball since its release and still do time to time so I’m not new to how the show is. The first episode was just boring and didn’t have almost any humor. Just seemed like an eat healthy message. It felt like they’re trying to replicate the old humor and it doesn’t work well. I’m hoping the other episodes aren’t like this but if they are, I’m really disappointed. And everyone is saying it’s just like the old show and it’s great, but I really didn’t enjoy the first episode at all.

Idk i've watched gumball pretty recently and it's still funny, but it also feels pretty Flanderized. Like it's lost a lot of self awareness and plot in place for zaniness. Idk maybe i'm thinking too much about it seeing as it's a kid show but that's my take.
