(Preah Vihear): This morning, July 30, 2025, a Cambodian military commander informed military attachés and diplomatic officials from 13 countries about the incident where Thai soldiers arrested 20 Cambodian soldiers (one escaped, two suspected dead) after the ceasefire came into effect. The arrests occurred when Cambodian soldiers walked to shake hands with Thai soldiers on the Cheung Tea battlefield. According to the Cambodian military's statement, this revelation was made during a visit led by senior Ministry of National Defense officials, foreign ambassadors, military attachés in Cambodia, and relevant parties to inspect the Cambodia-Thailand border. The purpose was to monitor the location and actual situation regarding the implementation of the ceasefire at the Cambodia-Thailand border. The Cambodian military informed the 13 countries' military attachés that when the ceasefire came into effect on the morning of July 29, 2025, Cambodian soldiers walked to shake hands with Thai soldiers. However, as they were walking back, Thai soldiers suddenly held them at gunpoint and arrested them. According to the Cambodian general's assertion, as of the afternoon of July 30, 2025, the Thai soldiers have not yet released the Cambodian soldiers.
