I feel like people don’t realize that a tsunami hits in 3 waves the first is calm and it’s just like flooding the 2nd is more forceful but the 3rd is when it’s catastrophic. We learned the signs from the 2004 tsunami

To those who don’t understand y he said that, growin up in Hawai’i n havin constant tsunami watch everytime an earthquake happens, it’s rare n hard to believe we will ever get hit by waves. For instance, when Japan got hit, the entire island was in panick because we thought we were gettin hit like they said, but it turned out it was false :/ same thing goes for other emergencies such as hurricanes. Yes, nature is very unpredictable and i also made sure all my family back home were in a safe location because at the end of the day, it’s better safe than sorry if somethin were to ever truly happen. Those waves are no joke out there. Thank god nothing major truly happened thou 🙏🏽 but all my prayers goes out to those who were affected by the earthquake and who also got hit by a tsunami as well !

You never know tho because of ocean topography and other factors, wave size is hard to predict. in 1960 Tsunami warning 6 hr. ahead of time just like this time, several people didn't take it seriously - the waves were 35 ft - 61 people died.
