Replying to @threadwalker37 we certainly welcome solidarity and as much of it as possible. However, it is indeed shameful for it to take this long. There are of course some exceptions where people perhaps lacked access to resources. However, there’s not really much of an excuse for any who has frequently used media since October 7th. My responses from the comments in case she inevitably blocks me or deletes my comments - I don’t think a non Palestinian is really qualified to offer the kind of feedback she did in the video. If someone isn't inspired to speak out after observing what is happening alone, that is the fault of the individual & they will likely not act in any way that genuinely impacts the material conditions if they need everything to be perfect and comfortable for their ego in order for them to care. The comfort of the non-oppressed does not hold triumph over the accountability people need to take for the time it took them to speak out. People who prioritize their personal comfort (subconsciously or not) over speaking out does not align with the qualities a person needs to have to genuinely act in solidarity. Courage and virtue, even when we have been wrong, are the traits of people who can genuinely act in solidarity. Historical material analysis has shown this. The information regarding what is happening in Palestine has been incredibly accessible for people. We have tons and tons and tons of video evidence everywhere. It is a moral violation to take this long to care. That doesn’t mean someone is shunned. However, there’s is a certain level of criticism, shame, or guilt the individual is responsible to feel themselves. This is social commentary and political analysis for educational purposes.
