These three drills are game changers. I’m suggesting again that you practice these three drills because I can’t emphasize enough how important they are and how much they help, especially with supination and pronation of the forearm. This time, I’d like to focus on drill 3, where we serve far outside the court to the ad side. One important note is to toss the ball the same way you would for a regular serve. In this situation, to execute it properly, you need to stay side-on at contact. To achieve extra distance and aim for the side fence, your movement will push you to go through the ball with pronounced long-axis rotation (internal shoulder rotation + forearm pronation). By practicing to hit the ball harder to reach the fence, you’ll unconsciously move more into supination to gain a greater range of motion for generating more power. Additional tips: • Your grip must be continental – if you use a forehand grip when serving, you won’t be able to get into the supination position. • Stay sideways – don’t let yourself be parallel to the net at contact. • Relax your grip – a grip that’s too tight causes tense forearm muscles, which blocks supination and pronation. Practice these drills once a week as a pre-serving routine, and you’ll see significant improvements in your serve! #tennis #tennistips #tennisservespecialist #tenniscoach #tennisplayer #tennisserve
