I'm in Michigan... currently decluttering home, storing most sentimental items in 2 water proof storage tubs, got excessive homeowners insurance. Been getting prepared for having to vacate and survive without assistance....bag should have lightweight tent, sleeping bag, water proof tarps or 2, Paracord, hatchet, axe, machete, ferro rods, forever wick, hunting knife, a stainless steel pot, cast iron frying pan(cast iron light) or stainless steel, knife, fork, spoon (drill a hole threw the handles and string together), knee high nylons ziplock full, bandanas, washclothes, bug net, fishing line rigged up, petroleum jelly and cotton balls(fire starter)or tea light candles, whined up or solar flashlight and camp light, mirror compact, compass, radio/ walkie radio if you got the money, first aid kit (bandages, rash cream, bug wipes, allergy meds, cold meds, pain meds, needle&sterile thread, thermometer, alcohol wipes, betadine wipes, face mask, sterile gloves, prescription meds, tunicate, aces bandages, bandaids, topical pain spray, first aid cream, anything else you think you'd use) baby wipes, mouth hygiene, brush, hair ties, 3 sets clothes, rain poncho, garbage bags, ziplock, water bottle metal, water canteen metal, water straw, collapsable water jug, 2 or 3 dehydrated meals in ball jars, box protein bars, seasonings in waterproof packets, powdered electrolytes or those Gatorade/Myo drops, protein powder, a few ramen packs/cup of soups, tuna packets, chicken packets...pack a bag with everything you might need for a week of wilderness survival camping alone in the middle of nowhere during awful weather. But make sure you can carry it or pull it in a car or wagon...a bike with a trailer would be a good idea for people with one or 2 toddlers... everyone should have an age appropriate bag and mode of transport to make getting from point a to b on your own steam and strength possible.
