I noticed the change when Clinton took office and the political correctness started taking hold. I was in the Army and the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell thing was implemented. A group of us were talking about it and made a comment about rump rangers and pink berets and was verbally "corrected" by the EO officer for inappropriate language.

It started when people started worrying about what others say. Then the offended became powerful when society became offended and canceled offensive people. The lemmings followed the cancelers and people got fired from their jobs for having an offensive thought.

It's been a slow decline for the last 25 years at least. I remember in about 2000 being at work and people rolling their eyes because of not being "politically correct". And it's just gotten worse.
