You know, I can’t get sad about Ozzy passing. It would be sad if his star faded, but the Prince of Darkness is ever a legend. It would be sad if at some point he stopped being Ozzy, but he was Metal forever. It would be sad if he stopped performing because he was “too old,” last show two weeks before he died. It would be sad if his death was sudden and tragic, he had a longer life than his lifestyle ever should have let him have. I’m sad for his family of course. But man if I was in Birmingham, I’d be partying too. Ozzy went out the best possible way, and that just weirdly makes me happy.
