I’m starting to sense that Jeremiah is a subconscious manipulator because the way he knew exactly what to say to Steven to get him to be his best man. He does the same to Belly. I think Laurel was right about Belly losing herself through this, specifically by being with Jeremiah. She’s actually taking on more of the leadership roles in the relationship, in fact, if anyone is actually stepping up to the challenge of getting married young it’s Belly. It seems like Jeremiah just wants to validate himself that “Belly chose him” because no one else in their family really does. It seems like a mixture of insecurity from his dad and his inferiority complex with Conrad. The only people who really can’t be manipulated by him are Laurel, Conrad, and his dad.

Theyre both so immature. Im team Connie all the way. The way they made fun of him on their little pool movie date and he could hear them genuinely made my heart sink. Belly has truly lost herself while being with Jere.

They’re definitely paralleling Belly and Laurel. We go from Laurel talking about how she lost herself and she didn’t ever know who she was before getting married to Belly who has completely lost herself in her relationship. Belly needs someone who challenges her, which is exactly what Steven said in S2. I think spending more time with Conrad will remind her of who she really is and we desperately need redemption for her before I’m okay with her getting back with Conrad 😭
