I have to admit, I have felt this. It's so sad how I just expected my kids to give me what I gave my parents but now we have resources available that weren't then.

There are success stories. I did a lot of hard work in regards to my mom's abuse. A lot of hard work for several years. That work that I did showed me the necessity for my kids to be able to come to me with anything that I've ever done that they felt caused them trauma or harm or hurt. I was a really good mom but there was stuff that I screwed up on and I'm glad my kids have shared those with me. We set some new boundaries and things are good. Really good. I always see such negativity in regards to this.
