YES! This is what I’ve been talking about! Jayce’s struggles in that ravine/pit are a mirror to Viktor’s life. The isolation, the leg injury, the hard climb up to the surface, having to do it all yourself when it all seems hopeless and bleak and still persisting despite the lack of support. Jayce falling into that ravine was a necessary evil for him to fully understand Viktor and save him in the finale

The irony of Jayce being seriously injured by a hextech weapon (the hammer) landing on his leg is an added bonus. Viktor was vehemently against using hextech to create weapons but Jayce made them anyways so it felt like karma

Jayce suffer what viktor suffered his whole life literally broke him. Like knowing people were watching but never helped, constant pain and loneliness. It makes it hit harder when you remember Viktor said he basically only made it out because he believed in himself.

I think that this moment was important so that he would grow to understand viktors experiences and no longer take pity on his conditions or cast judgement on where he came from. Arleast in my opinion, it’s what helped save viktor in the end.
