One Day In The Lake District, England 8:15 Hike to Orrest Head Viewpoint. 8:37 Eat breakfast at the summit & take 500 photos. 10:16 Hang out on Lake Windermere. 11:03 Hike through the forest. *the walk along the lake, through the forest, and through town was part of the Bowness on Windermere Circular hike (we did add some unintentional detours)* 11:56 Lunch and walk the shops in Windermere. 15:09 *naps and relaxing at the rental in Ambleside* 16:54 Walk around town and browse the shops in Ambleside. 17:25 Dinner and drinks in Ambleside. TIP: *Be sure to arrive early to secure parking and avoid heavy traffic. We spent the night in Ambleside and started the day early. We parked in Windermere with no issues at 8 am on a Friday morning, saw the sights with limited crowds, then returned to Ambleside in the afternoon (where we had parking at our rental). Ambleside was busy on a Friday evening but not unmanageable.
