Man I got a business admin degree majoring in computer info systems, so you had IT ppl mixed with the business majors, and my god the business students were generally so devoid of morals it was insane. Some were alright, but as a whole the entire attitude was “I’m gonna do whatever it takes to get mine”.

never trust a person with a business degree. not with anything specific, just in general. don’t trust em.

Can we add healthcare to the list? Healthcare should not be for profit.

I believe that no one with a business degree should be in any position of power over anything at this point. I've only ever soon them make decisions that make companies worse.

A ceos job is not to make good product that earns money. It's to make the share holders happy. And share holders are unhappy every time a product is widely enjoyed by people who weren't shaken down for money first.

nobody who has been to business school should ever be in charge of something. it's that thing where people who actually want power are the least qualified people to have it

I once described the business model for Unreal Engine and Epic to my boss, a 60-something business prof. He said "that's idiotic, they'll be bankrupt in a few months". So take from that why you will.

film degreed ba and masters here. Got a production company with a business degree individual. They're one of the most creatively minded people I know. You just have to avoid the vultures and to find people that care about the "products" they run.

There should at least be a balance of loving the art, but also being competent with it business wise

As someone who has a business degree AND has worked in the entertainment industry; I full heartedly agree! They are two different worlds and you cannot successfully blend them as they are taught in this world. Careers have been destroyed and art extinguished because of the “it was better for business” mindset.

Nah for sure. As a business major (now auditor) I can do great things managing people, but as far as creative vision? You better have something (maybe not school but something) on that resume to back it up

I’ll take it a step further. Anyone who went to school for business shouldn’t be in charge of ANYTHING. They should be in sales at best, but really just all rounded up and sent to one office building to spew word salad at each other and leave us all alone.

Passion in the entertainment or art from those in charge of it is an absolute requirement for success. Big corps can’t do it because they can’t hire passion

It's whenever the people running the IP don't personally love the IP, doesn't really matter their field. If you hate or don't care about the properties you manage, then it's all just going to be interchangable profit squeezing machines for you. The problem is capitalism.
