Love the environment and the outdoors but I think a lot of ppl out here are judged even when they aren’t lds. And the lds being major influence and being pretty sexist doesn’t help, I’ve seen so many moms online talking about the awful ways their spouse treats them and the parents thinking they should just deal with it because of their religion

everybody put up a front and because everybody’s putting up a front, let’s stay a “mask” There’s no real connections. Therefore, you never really connect with those around you and will constantly feel lonely because of surface base connections. Also, no money not going out. Smh

People aren’t genuine, they are nice but not genuine. They may talk to you but they do seem closed off.

It’s because people “fake” connect here. They befriend you if they can get you to be part of their thing but it’s temporary if you don’t agree.

I think the way our neighborhoods are designed contributes a lot to this. We have these GIANT suburbs with limited access to social places. if I want to do anything with others, I need to drive 30+ minutes to meet up, and we all know how great it is to drive in Utah...

I’d say a lot of Utahns grew up in a faith they were forced into. Leave. Then have no idea who they are. Hard to connect with people when you’re not connected with yourself.

Utah lacks a lot of second spaces besides bars and churches. They destroyed one of the best places in Utah county to make more apartments

it's the amount of fake people, a lot of LDS people are super bubbly and happy but some are secretly horrible people with dark secrets and they all judge even when they don't mean to. the exmormon community also gets a bit crazy too coming out of their life religion and questioning everything
