@wildisleytattoo: No matter how many tattoos you have, you are still one person. Other people have different experiences. So telling me I’m wrong based on just YOUR experience is a tad foolish I fear.
I just found your page but you might have some good insight on this: is it possible to tattoo over a friction burn scar? I was in a mountaineering accident and want to eventually cover my scars somehow but I can’t find consistent info on whether it’s even possible.

Definitely think the tattoos I got from a heavy handed person scabbed and did not heal as well as my other ones!

The best is when they aren’t actually a tattoo artist either…. Like client experience is different than artist experience/opinion🤦🏻♀️

so most my tattoos have not really scabbed my artist I know she's exetemely light handed she did my collarbone no scabbing but now my back is scabbing mainly just the thicker lines now I think it is a combo of the numbing cream and it being on my back because the scabs that have come off it looks normal and thus is the inky time I've really scabbed so it's very weird to me but I've also noticed a difference on like how my back is scabbing and how my husband's chest scabbed and he lost a lot of his black ink, his body was rejecting the black ink n I think it was the specific kind but it was like gravel it was the weirdest thing when it scabbed so if you scab I'd also suggest paying attention to the scabbing itself
