Start dressing conservatively and only dress more casually once you’re certain it’s acceptable to do so! If you’re a baby-faced teacher like me, dressing conservatively helps to seperate yourself from the students as well at the hs level

I wore a LOT of black pants or khakis until I figured out what I should wear! I got some super comfy dress pants at Kohl’s, but now there’s so many companies that make the “athletic trousers” and those are the BOMB.

My college didn’t care how the teachers dressed, we had to be professional everyday unless it was Friday bc those are normally jeans days. Or spirit days/weeks.

When I was student teaching, I made sure I had a comfortable tank top under every shirt that had any kind of dip or scoop just for extra coverage. I ended up fading that out over my first two years, but during student teaching, it made me feel a lot more comfortable when I was still learning how to dress as a teacher.

I felt like I was safe wearing simple single colored dresses pretty much everyday, and brought a sweater. Granted, I am comfortable in dresses so this was natural for me.

Our rule is business casual- no jeans. However, they also tell us to look at the school dress code for teachers to see what we can wear
