He was wrong af, he killed so many innocent’s like ray penber and his wife. He had a childish sense of justice. I’m one of the few who was glad when he died and rooted for near and L both. Betrayed his own father and friends for years.

I always viewed Death Note as being a story about how absolute power corrupts absolutely. No human is a god or capable of handling the power of a god and Light started off as a good person who fell further into evil the greater his ambitions and God complex grew. In the end he's just a man who died as a man. I feel like the anime also made his death much more noble than the manga which had him die in a much more pathetic way to really emphasize the point that he was never anything more special than an ordinary person who let his huberis get the better of him.

it's themes also relays when is the line of justice being taken by the order of the public or by one person. I think that's also why Mochida taking the shot on Light is important because sometimes the system can't do it all but also one person shouldnt do it either like Light
