@abc7newsbayarea: Will Kim, a green card holder from South Korea who has lived in the United States for 35 years, was taken into government custody by immigration authorities at San Francisco International Airport after a two-week trip to South Korea to attend his brother's wedding. His lawyer says it is unclear why he is being detained, with the CBP officer denying him the right to speak to his lawyer and holding him in a room "without access to sunlight." #korean #southkorean #greencard #USTravel #detained #sf #sfo #cpb #news #fyp #foryoupage #fypシ #abc7newsbayarea

Imagine you came here, built a life, made a mistake, and paid your dues, and are a productive member of society. Do you deserve to have your life ripped apart? No. And no, immigrants aren’t freeloading. They pay far more in taxes than they take in benefits.

The problem is if he’s deported back to Korea, he wouldn’t even know how to survive there, and he might not even speak the language 😭

He is not a "green card holder"; HE is a a legal resident. Call it the right term. This needs to stop. Assembly members must raise and do their job to do the "check and balance" of the presidential power. They need to do their job.

Well, they just wanted to make sure what was the deal with the misdemeanor. I don’t see the issue.

But why would she say she doesn’t know the reason: obviously, it’s because of that conviction! Now, the merits on him being detained because of that conviction — with the backdrop of its outcome— the s a separate issue.

Any criminal record on you is a red flag it's there in ICE data system as soon as they scan your passport pop up then send you back room, ma'am community service doesn't remove his record in the system the only thing he should have done is to become a US Citizen, because in his Korean passport the record is there

Green card means right to stay temporarily, citizenship means right to stay indefinitely. When the world is in conflict then policies change to protect and control the countries borders, the best way is to remove people who aren’t loyal, is here illegally, or is too lazy to get citizenship.

Omg— a conviction for possession of a controlled substance makes one inadmissible. immigration and nationality act section 212(a)(2). It’s not “for nothing”—
