@whiskey_noobs: This is one of only TWO bottles that I bought for myself while I was in Ireland, and I bought it for one reason only: my tour guide who had lived in Ireland his ENTIRE life recommended it. I mean, it doesn't get much more authentic than that! My tour guide, Phil, told us that Jameson is made more for a worldwide audience (in his opinion, of course). You don't see a lot of folks born and bred in Ireland who will have that on a casual night out. Being a lover of Irish whiskey, he had three main brands that he recommended: Powers (also brought to you by Midleton), Paddy's, and Kilbeggan. When I saw it in the duty free shop, I knew what I had to do. Now I will say, this is clearly a blended whiskey. You get some of that alcohol smell that you get from a grain whiskey. But it also had a LOT going on! Notes of banana, a little granola, and even a touch of oak spice. Considering it was fairly affordable, I'm not mad about this purchase at all!
