I don’t know if it was intentionally racist. It was certainly in poor taste. What I do know is that she seemed strung out in the commercial. And American Eagle has marketed themselves as being inclusive over the years. They have had models of all different shapes and sizes and races. And a lot of people embraced American Eagle because they were inclusive. I think that is one reason that this seems even more over-the-top offensive. Just my perspective. I am a blue eyed white woman, and this did not make me want to buy their jeans. However, I am not their age demographic. Just my thoughts.
