@tayy.ayralee: Like just stop wearing them until you can get the new ones I don’t get it??? Respectfully of course 🤨👀 #utah #mormongirls #newgarments #utahcheck #utahgirls #saltlakecity
I’m just sick of them talking about their ‘underwear’ on social media 🙄

For me, I wish I could have just been ok to not wear them, but when you’re under c*lt mind control and it’s important for your eternal salvation… you follow the rules. 2” of fabric is equal to being able to live with God and your family again. That’s why it’s so important for so many, but no one will say it that way. Glad to be out do that mindset, but hope that helps give perspective. Though uoi probably already knew this!

It’s their insistence that it was never about modesty. 🙄

As a hyperhydrosis endowed girly- I’m excited for the new style but like… I’m also completely fine with the ones I have? I love my garments and wearing them reminds me of my covenants. I just will love to be less hot when the new ones are available. I will not be altering or not wearing the ones I already have as per instructed? I see it as if someone were to hole punch their carrinessa gs just because cotton stretch has mesh panels. It’s bizarre to me!

Haha I get the confusion but that’s not how garments work lol. I do agree about the wedding part. (I didn’t wear a top on my wedding day) but we are supposed to wear them always it has nothing to do with if it’s a tank top or not. So we can’t just “not wear them” since tank tops are allowed now. Hope that makes sense haha

I’m one of the people that doesn’t always wear my garments, and if I wear a tank top I just don’t wear them. I have a hard time with people who think they’ll wear their garments more with the new ones bc they’re more versatile but honestly I don’t think they will. At least that’s how I would be🤷🏽♀️you either wear them or you don’t.

I don’t really get it. I’ve never had a problem with the garments I wear now. It’s not a big deal to me. 🤷🏻♀️

As a member I sorta agree… I just pretend the new ones don’t exist and wear the garments I’ve been wearing this whole time. I’m excited but they’ll come soon enough.

To be honest I’m not seeing a huge difference in what can be worn with the new ones and what I wear now. It kinda seems like they cover the same amount of shoulder as some of my garment tops that aren’t the tank top cut🤷♀️

i understand the thinking and there’s so many responses, but one i would like to include is judgement from family 👀 i know of i wanted to wear a dress like that for my wedding, my family would absolutely judge and say something and whisper about it, just bc that’s the culture. that’s just one of the real answers i know no one is going to say to you LOL. def the judgement they will recieve if they didn’t just “not wear them”

You can't attend the temple without them. BUT you also can't wear a sleeveless wedding dress in the temple either .... If it doesn't cover to the wrist you have to wear the sleeved shirt they give you to put under it. And yes, they do garment checks.

Temple garments aren’t about modesty it’s about covenants! We don’t wear them to be modest we wear them to remind us of our commitment to follow Jesus Christ every day!

Or cut and sew them to fit how you need. The thing that makes them special is the markings on them. The style and cut and fit are all arbitrary - and very much depended on size. The reason women can wear tank tops now is a group of nonagenarian men decided the pattern change was ok “for people in hot climates”

its in the temple recommended questions, "do you wear your temple garments as instructed both day and night?" they have to wear them to be temple worthy. I don't see an issue with just not wearing them for specific occasions, but I don't have a lot of say in the matter as an ex mo

Hahaha for me it’s like I totally want to have a more versatile wardrobe and to be able to keep my covenants while wearing tank tops, but the way people are going insane and literally selling them is absolutely unreal. I’m so excited to have the new ones, but there’s clearly a reason we don’t have them yet and the way people are going about trying to get them is so wrong

for the longest time it was "no, it's not oppressive, we actually like wearing garments and prefer to dress modestly and cover our shoulders". how did it turn into "giving up my firstborn in exchange for tank top garments"??!
