You never really realize how much your environment shapes you until you step out of it. Looking back at my college years and early twenties, I spent way too much time chasing after the next party, the next drink, the next moment of vanity. It felt fun in the moment, but deep down, I was empty. I was numbing a lack of purpose with distraction and cheap dopamine. And I hated that I kept doing it. But I was really just stuck. It wasn’t until I changed my environment — the people I surrounded myself with, the content I consumed, the places I spent my time — that things started to shift. Now, I don’t chase the next high. I chase God. I chase discipline. I chase peace. And let me tell you — real peace doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from surrender. So if you’re in that same cycle, you’re not alone. But you don’t have to stay stuck. Change your environment. Change your direction.
