my son went to Disney with his gf and her family. when he came home he said it was like he was with a real family 💔. he has both his parents, but we weren't a happy family so I knew how he felt and why.

I have been late on payments just so her and I can take small trips. No shame! For 17 years it’s been me and my daughter- we’ve never been out of the country but thanks to the good lord I’m financially stable and can do this for us in 2026! It’s not the big things that matter. It’s you and them through storms and sunshine! 🫶🏻🤗

the fact that you feel guilty that your child didnt experience the same traditions as others proves what a great dad you are. You spend time with her and goof around together. That is what she will remember and cherish

Trust when I say they’re just grateful. Mine turned 18 this year and the convos we’ve had about our life just the two of us (when I had been doubting myself for years)….whew 🥹 And you know what, I did that and created that safe space for him. Keep going, it’s all worth it 🫶🏻

Night swimming and goofing off with your dad is a tradition. Having a parent that hangs out with you is the biggest win.

Don’t feel bad. I do so much more with just my teen sons and I. They’re my bestest friends. We have a blast. Enjoy the moments and show her with never ending love. I wished my mom did that for me. Looking back I didn’t care for family things. I just wanted her. 😞

It sucks. My husband died and since then everything has changed. I try my hardest, but there are no vacations, holidays are hard. Nothing is the same for them. I hate that they were robbed.

Our tradition was beach trips for her birthday. Had 50/50 since she was 2. Her mom died in April of cancer. I had to take a much lower paying job . No birthday beach trip this year baby girl …. Broken
