As a teacher, it blows my mind that parents trust me to teach their children to read, but don’t trust me with Kleenex and crayons. Thank you for your perspective!

My “kids” are 43, 39, 35 and 32, my 9 grandkids range from 21 (graduating college in Dec) all the way down to 6 years old, I buy their supplies, I buy stuff on all the teachers lists and then another $250 additional items that often need replenishing by mid term that’s on the lists for their classroooms.

this!!! what is wrong with people, someone on our county page ranted about school supplies going into a bin for kids to share. like, regardless, YOUR child will have their supplies and other kids. it’s easier for kids to just share and use what is needed, i don’t get why people freak out over this.

I agree. We buy all the things and send in extra. Then around halfway through the year we donate around $250 per teacher for their classroom. It was eye opening how much money the teacher was spending to send home for virtual learning during Covid.

Thank you!! So many kids will come up to me and be embarrassed that they don’t have pencils or crayons. The last thing I want to do is hand them supplies with another child’s name. You are an angel🥹
