The questions sound pretty ridiculous when asked to a man, don’t they? 😅 While my husband was gone on business this week I kept wondering if he’s ever been asked any of the most common questions I’m *always* asked when I travel alone for my business. Not a shocker: he’s never been asked any of them. We talked about it for a bit after filming (he came in not knowing what we were filming), and he told me that he’s often asked by people if he helps me with my business. I share this because the number one thing I hear from you, is that you feel guilty. You feel guilty to leave, to dream, to go to work, or guilty if you choose to stay home. Like no choice is good enough. There’s guilt that comes internally, like our moral compass pinging us when we need to course correct… but I don’t think that’s the guilt a lot of moms feel. Guilt also comes from external pressure. From comments that are made, expectations from others that are set that we feel we’re not living up to. This internal conflict can create so much uneasiness inside of us, and then we feel guilty for not doing what everyone else thinks we should be doing. I’ve been asked these questions in passer by comments, to full on chastisements from Uber drivers. You get to choose what’s good enough. What’s enough for your family. So the next time you feel guilty, ask yourself- “is this coming from me? Or is it external.” ❤️
