kinda opposite situation but my brother's partner came with my family on a trip to greece this year and the first thing she did was buy groceries to make greek salad for her and my brother in their hotel room every day instead of joining us for lunch. and it wasn't bc of budgeting bc everything on the whole trip was paid for by my step dad. definitely messed up the whole vibe.

once on a holiday trip my fiancé’s family made solely ambrosia salad & spicy coleslaw for breakfast and then had the leftovers for lunch AND dinner, I didn’t eat for 26 hours 🤩🤩🤩 I asked for any sort of snack and they offered me “a pumpkin from the garden” 🙂

Once during Covid era , but not like peak, maybe like 2022, I went on a trip to Cali with my friend and they put me in the back of their van with a mask on the whole 8 hr ride. I WAS RHE ONLY ONE WHO HAD TO WEAR THE MASK.

I had a childhood friend whose fam was like this. her mom was weirdly irritated whenever I asked for a drink of water. she once said something like “yup of course sarah alwaaaaays needs her water” like damn! I’m human! we all need water!
