I promise if you put Randy Probst behind the wheel of those things, he's gonna shave seconds off those times. Yes, the engineers are GOOD - but they're not THAT level good.

I think there is a qualitative difference between an engineer in the performance division and a top level pro driver that can’t be made up with seat time. I’d bet there’s a solid 3-5 seconds on the table between these guys and an elite level driver.

I think what GM failed to convey, was there are professional Nurburgring drivers, who do nothing but drive companies cars to get the best lap record for the Ring.

Are the better than some random Joe Schmoe, yes, are they as good as someone who has dedicated their life to getting the most out of a lap time, no, get a gt3 driver or pull one of their endurance drivers and I bet they find a few seconds

And probably thousands of hours in the simulator. Also pro means it’s the job they’re paid to do. These guys are 100% racers with I’d bet way more experience than they’re being allowed to say. Cattell could be the stig for all we know😂

Drew Cattell is an ex race car driver who drove Cadillac, was there professionally driver in 2017 for the development of the Camaro zl1 he clearly is an professional driver 🤣

We don't need good drivers. We need RACE CAR drivers. I'm not saying these guys a bad....clearly they are not. But they are engineers, cool we got to see them lay down some times. A race car driver is gonna squeeze more out of those cars. Give it to Max, let him have a few laps and I guarantee you the X is within a few seconds of the AMG-One
