The film was rumored to be based on the 2016 legal battle with Gawker Media over his leaked sex tape in which he walked away with $115 million. The decision to move away from the project was made 'a while ago, long before Hulk's passing.' This is actually the second Hulk Hogan biopic tore cancelled, with one staring Chris Hemsworth being scrapped back in 2024, based on a script Hogan himself described as ‘powerful’ and ‘very, very dark’.
