My stepmom did this to me often. The one i remember the clearest, was when my grandma died. Her and my dad, told me about it long after the funeral. I was no contact with them bc of stepmoms behavior. So when i was told about it, she said they didn’t tell me, about the funeral, for my own good, because the whole family didn’t wanted me there and was angry for being nc to my dad. Just resentful found out, no one didn’t thought that or was angry at me. She made me believe everyone hated me so much, that i would get in trouble and be disrespectful if i had been at my grandma’s funeral
