@sashaesloan: I’ve been asked a lot why I care about immigration reform and I’m pretty sure this was where the seed got planted 🇺🇸 #uspolitics #immigration #refugees

Getting pregnant as a Latina in this political climate and hating that my baby will now grow up in a country that hates half of what it is and hoping it doesn’t resent my side of the family for wanting a better life (baby is and it bc we’re letting it be a surprise)

I didn’t speak any English when I started kinder and it was very scary so I would cry and a little girl who spoke both told me “don’t worry I’ll teach you it’s easy” and she did!

CNN 10. watching kids from other countries suffering and thinking, they deserve the peace I have here, is what radicalized me.

Thank you for saying this 😭 as someone who was brought here as a kid, I feel just as American as I do Mexican, but at the same time not enough of each. Like a weird middle ground

1) growing up in ag, lots of good people just trying to have a better life 2) the owner of the used bookstore next to our favorite restaurant that would recommend books like 1984 and The Handmaids Tale to me as a junior high kid.

You know what radicalized me? Having a federal agent/interpol agent as my father. You’d think he be all in on the right but nope, he’s been feeding me leftist ideology since I was able to read.

My husband almost ended up in one of those schools in California, but the school enrolled too many kids and he ended up being homeschooled instead. Unfortunately, he was radicalized the other way for much of his upbringing. At least he got to learn math, I guess 😅

What’s radical is that the realization is considered radical in this country.

I wasn’t exact same program. I learned English in about four months by first grade I could read and write both languages. It was honestly awesome.
